The use of liquid crystals has been a breakthrough in monitor technology as well as in various display applications such as watches, televisions, and cellular phones among many others. The old CRT Monitors have been huge and bulky while the use of liquid crystals in every pixel has allowed a slim and sleeker look for monitors and display devices. LCD monitors are also electricity efficient, instead of having monitors that consumes a large amount of energy, LCD monitors require minimum energy consumption and it can also be made to run on batteries. That is why it is very versatile and can be used in many different mobile devices.

You also need to consider screen real estate. Screen real estate is the amount of space that you can work with on your desktop. Other desktops do display bigger images but provide less screen real estate. You wouldn't want to see applications and pages overcrowding your monitor right? Check screen real estate and see if you have enough space to view pages and applications without having to scroll through documents as if they were a mile long. If you definitely need a lot of space then I suggest you go for dual screens. Dual monitor screens definitely make your desk look cool, it also creates a greater screen space for you to work on comfortably (I personally use a total of four LCD screens in my office). Dual LCD screens are definitely the way to go for all your multi-tasking needs. Look for monitors that have USB ports on the side. Having USB ports can increase efficiency and accessibility. This helps a lot especially when most of the ports are located below your desk in the CPU.
